Jeanne L. Wech, age 100, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.
The Funeral Mass will be live streamed on the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home Facebook page starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Jeanne is survived by her son, Glenn Wech; daughters, JoAnne Griebel, Theresa Maas, Carol (Tony) Boelter; grandchildren, Willie (Jenny) Griebel, Mandy Griebel, Angie (Ryan) Honstad, Kelsey Maas, Ryan (Jess) Boelter, Kelly (Jason) Stadtherr, Josh (Emily) Boelter, Curtis (Rebekah) Wech, Jason (Elisabeth) Wech; great-grandchildren, Caleb Griebel, Matthew Honstad, Zachary Boelter, Raylyn Boelter, Trenton Stadtherr, Grant Stadtherr, Alex Wech, Lyla Wech, August Wech, Cecilia Wech and Caroline Wech; and her sister, Elaine Stueber.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Wech; great-grandson, Rylan Branscomb Griebel; brothers, George Sturm, John Sturm Jr., Paul Sturm, Leo Sturm, Roger Sturm; sister, Beatrice Sturm; sons-in-law, Charles Maas and Paul Griebel.
Jeanne Lois Sturm was born March 7, 1922, to John Sr. and Gretchen (Metzen) Sturm in Cottonwood Township. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1940. On February 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Raymond Wech at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. The couple farmed and raised their family together in rural New Ulm. Jeanne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth Society Catholic Aid and the Christian Mothers. Jeanne enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, quilting, puzzles and playing cards but she especially loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
