Adana “Dana” Bernholtz, 81, of New Ulm died Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 At St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Scott Oelhafen officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9:30 – 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Dana is survived by her sister, Judy Strand of Minneapolis; and her brother Karl (Roxann) Podratz of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Norman.
Adana Wilhelmina Podratz was born May 12, 1940 in New Ulm to Clarence and Elsa (Sievert) Podratz. She was a graduate of Gibbon High School and Fairmont Beauty School. Dana was united in marriage to Norman Bernholtz in 1966 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. After marriage they farmed in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County where Dana was an excellent homemaker. She also owned and operated her own beauty shop on the farm and was also employed at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home for more than 20 years as a hairdresser. Dana and Norman hosted many German musicians that traveled here for Heritage Fest and enjoyed following the New Ulm High School Hockey Team for decades.
