Karen Kohn

COURTLAND — Karen Kohn, age 78, of Courtland passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Bayside Manor in Gaylord.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Karen is survived by her husband of over 59 years, Gary Kohn of Courtland; daughters, Pam (Randy) Fullerton of New Ulm, Diette (Jim Fullerton) Bushard of New Ulm; sons, Mark (Michele) Kohn of Courtland; Derek Kohn of Eagle Lake; five grandchildren, Ryan, Kala and Jared Fullerton, Ashley and Samantha Kohn; two great-grandchildren, Alisandra and Lucille Waibel; sister, Linda (Mike) Tauer of New Ulm; brother, Gene (Brenda) Byer; brother-in-law, Tim (Lori) Kohn of Courtland; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Marvin and Florence Kohn; brother, Norbert Byer; and sister-in-law, Kathy Solberg.

Karen Marie Byer was born July 22, 1943 to Benedict and Helen (Iverson) Byer in New Ulm. She graduated from New Ulm Public High School. On June 9, 1962, Karen was united in marriage to Gary Kohn in New Ulm. Their union was blessed with four children, all of whom Karen dedicated her life to raising and providing a home for. Karen loved being a helper and caring for others, especially her cats and dogs. Being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife were what she treasured most in life.

Karen will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
