Anna Brackelsberg

Anna Marie Brackelsburg, 77, of Madelia, died Jan. 2, 2022.

Anna Marie was born May 17, 1944 at the old Loretto Hospital in New Ulm, to Frank J. and Dorothy (Schweiss) Beck. She grew up in Fairfax, MN until 1959 when the family moved to Madelia. In 1961 she met the love of her life, Ken Brackelsberg. They were married Oct. 26, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madelia. They remained in Madelia and raised their sons, Kevin and Vinnie.

Anna was employed at Etter’s Cafe, Zimmerman Variety, and then Seibert’s Grocery, which later became Sunshine Foods. She retired after working 50 years on Main Street, 39 of those years at the grocery store.

She was a member of St. Mary’s and Catholic Aid and CCW. She enjoyed gardening, antiques, puzzles, baking, her home and most of all, spending time with family.

She is survived by sons, Kevin and Vinnie (Ashley); grandchildren, Cheryl, Mark, Mary and Ben; great-grandchildren, Jade, Leila, Bentley, Reyna and Luca; brothers Tom (Debi) Beck, Steve (Sheila) Beck, many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her husband, Ken, on Dec. 10, 2001; her parents; brothers Francis and Paul; sisters Ruth and Mary, and brother-in-law John Breiter.
