A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, and continue from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family with arrangements.

Steve is survived by his wife, Ginger Melzer of New Ulm; his daughter, Heather Haala of Fairfax; his son, Heath Melzer of Hansville, Wash.; 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; his brother, Randy Melzer of New Ulm.

Steven “Steve” Allen Melzer was born Jan. 25, 1950, in New Ulm to Alton and Marion (Schapekahm) Melzer.
