Memorial visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Graveside Service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 in the New Ulm City Cemetery-Soldier’s Rest Section. Full military honors will be accorded by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.

John is survived by a daughter, Rachel Seidl of New Ulm; sons, Jared (Nicole) Anderson of New Ulm, Ryan Anderson of New Ulm, and Jason (Sara) Anderson of Pueblo, CO; fourteen grandchildren; a sister, Katheryn “Kay” (Tom) Rivers; a brother, Robert (Janice) Anderson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jean Anderson; and a brother, Murray Anderson.

John Anderson was born on August 21, 1940 in Madelia to William & Elsie (Anderson) Anderson. He served in the US Army from 1958-1962. After his military service, John began his career as a mechanic at 3M in New Ulm, where he was employed his entire career until his retirement in 1998. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, hanging out with his friends, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
