NEW ULM — Aloysius “Ollie” George Schroepfer, age 94 of New Ulm died peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Oak Hills Living Center with his family by his side.
Mass of Christian burial will be 12 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-North Chapel in New Ulm.

Ollie is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dorothy Schroepfer of New Ulm; his daughters, Cheryl Knight (Mike) of Rotonda West, Florida, Nancy Ford (Dick Henry) of Avon; his 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Beverly Schroepfer of Sleepy Eye; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Amelia Schroepfer; and his step-father, Anton Heitzer; son-in-law, Jerry Ford; and his brother, Joseph “Dutch” Schroepfer.
Aloysius “Ollie” George Schroepfer was born April 5, 1927, in Sleepy Eye to Felix and Amelia (Sellner) Schroepfer. He was a 1945 graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Sleepy Eye and soon after proudly served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1945-1948 where he attained the rank of Corporal. Ollie was united in marriage to Dorothy Saffert on June 8, 1948, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. The couple lived in Sleepy Eye for 12 years before moving the family to New Ulm. Ollie worked a long and dedicated career of 30 years as a pattern maker with the American Artstone Company in New Ulm. In his retirement, he served on the Artstone Board of Directors for 9 years. He went to work for the New Ulm Bus Lines and drove a handicap bus for 22 years. Ollie had many hobbies. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, gardening, and spending his winters at Padre Island. Ollie made stained glass as a hobby creating many gifts and windows in their home. For 15 years Ollie and his wife also volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels. Ollie was a devout member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity where he was active with the Knights of Columbus attaining his 4th Degree Status and was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the New Ulm American Legion Post #132.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm, or the donor’s choice.
