He was born on Feb. 25, 1948, to Vernon and Rose (Wilson) Arndt in New Ulm. He left high school to enlist in the Army to serve in Vietnam.

Survivors include his children, Jessica Miller, Timothy Arndt, and Kelly Decker; four grandchildren and siblings, Mona Klassen, John Arndt, Mary Bohlmann, Tricia Nelson, Nancy Zaczkowski, and Jim Arndt.

A visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 12, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Floodwood. Military Honors accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Minnesota Veterans Cemetery in Duluth.
