Shirley Ann Kamm (Stoll)

SEARLES – Shirley would like you to know Mellie has called her home to be with him. He missed her and her cooking. Mellie has made it well known that Shirley is a terrific cook and they have an opening as head chef in Heaven with him. It is an offer she could not refuse as now she can be with him and enjoy cooking the way she use too. He also stated this mission will take her to a wonderful place where they can spend eternity together. He reassured her their children will be fine and they will watch over them from the Golden Gates. Mellie promised her she will love this new journey where they can walk hand and hand and reunite with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. They will be playing sheephead, camping, fishing, socializing, and dancing to polka music like the old times. Music, laughter, and everlasting love are guaranteed. He reassured her the best is yet to come. Their legacy will live on through their children and grandchildren who witnessed a real-life love story.

She died peacefully at her home while being held in the arms of her loving children.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am on Friday, June 18, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. Burial will follow in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8:30-10:30 am on Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-South Chapel in New Ulm.

She is survived by Daughters, Denise (Tom) Manderfeld, Pam (Brad) Wiltscheck, Jody (Scott) Juni, Judy (Corey) Schaefer; Sons, Troy (Denise) Kamm, Rick (Julie) Kamm; 18 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren; Brothers, Gayel (Sharon) Stoll, Larry (Lois) Stoll; sister, Barb Asmus; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Kamm; her parents, Herb and Evelyn Stoll; father and mother in-law, George and Mary (Zeug) Kamm; brother, Delbert Stoll; brothers in-law, Ted Asmus & Dennis Reinarts; and sister in-law, Sharon Stoll.

Shirley was born February 20, 1941 to Herb and Evelyn Stoll. She grew up in Fairfax area where she graduated from Fairfax High School in 1959. She and her good friend Toni Fox would go to different ballrooms to dance and several different places to roller skate. During roller skating is where she found the love of her life, Mellie.

She was united in marriage to Melvin George Kamm on November 12, 1960. They celebrated 60 years of marriage on November 12, 2020. They were blessed with 6 children that they took on many trips that consisted of camping and fishing all over the state. The family just recently was lucky enough to all go to Las Vegas to spend time together and make memories to last a lifetime.

She worked at Kraft Foods for over 20 years where she was on the Kraft and Saturday Nite Live bowling team with many of her friends, shopping trips and department parties. After her retirement from Kraft she and Mellie spent their summers at Your Haven Resort which also turned into a getaway for his children & grandchildren. Countless cherished memories will forever stay in the hearts of those who were blessed to have her in their lives. Blessed be those memories.
