Edna D. Zamzow

GIBBON — Edna D. Zamzow, age 96, of Gibbon passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at the New Ulm Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with Pastor Steven Bauer officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Wednesday.

All guests in attendance are required to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

Edna is survived by her sons, Robert (Sandi), Roger, Dennis and Gary Zamzow; 7 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and her sisters, LaVonne and Darlene.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Zamzow; her brothers, Eddie and Donnie and one grandchild.

Edna Delores Lagerwall was born Feb. 6, 1925 to Axel and Mable (Melquist) Lagerwall in Gibbon. She graduated from Nicollet High School. On June 21, 1947 she was united in marriage to Elmer Zamzow at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. Edna worked at the Fingerhut and Hans in Winthrop she also farmed with her husband in Gibbon. Edna raised dogs and enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was also known as the “Pop Can Lady” — she loved to collect pop cans from all over — but she especially loved to spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
