Michael Sellner

NEW ULM — Michael Sellner, 54, of New Ulm peacefully passed away after a short courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his parent’s home surrounded by his family.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father Gerald Maidl officiating.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM Friday and 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH Chapel in New Ulm.
Due to COVID-19 all attendees are required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

Mike is survived by his parents, Marlyn and Judy Sellner of New Ulm; sisters, Marcy (CJ) Schmidtke of Little Falls, Nancy Sellner of Sleepy Eye; brothers, Jim (Amy) Sellner of New Ulm, Gregg (Aimee) Sellner of Big Lake, Chad (Christa) Sellner of Monticello and Dave (Shanda) Sellner of Gibbon.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Michael Joseph Sellner was born October 4, 1966 in New Ulm to Marlyn and Judy (Gag) Sellner. Mike was a free spirited individual who used his sense of humor and simple way of life to touch the hearts of others. He would always think of family members first, especially his nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Mike loved to fish, he shared that passion with his family and especially his best friend Mike Boyum. In addition to fishing, Mike also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and listening to House of Hair on Saturday nights.
Mike was a 1985 graduate of Cathedral High School and a loyal employee at North Central Container in New Ulm for over 20 years.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to New Ulm Sport Fishermen’s Club for their Take a Kid Fishing Program.
