Norman Barrer

NICOLLET — Norman Barrer, 88, of Nicollet died on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at his home in St. Peter.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Nicollet where the Nicollet American Legion Honor Guard will provide full military honors.

A public visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. Social distancing guidelines must be practiced at all times, and all guests in attendance at the visitation will be required to wear a mask.

The service will be live-streamed through the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home’s Facebook page starting at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Norman is survived by his wife, Lois Barrer of St. Peter; children, Bryan Barrer of Merrifield, Dawn Barrett of Mankato, Gary Barrer of Nicollet, Steve Barrer of Nicollet, Tom Barrer of Chaska, Angie Bode of Nicollet; 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Norman Ray Barrer was born July 31, 1932, in Delavan, to Fabian and Margaret (Barrett) Barrer.
