Gerard “Jerry” Howard Rothmeyer was born Dec. 13, 1952, in New Ulm to Ervin and Mildred (Vogel) Rothmeyer. Although Jerry was born with intellectual disabilities, his determination still led him through special education schooling at New Ulm High School. When he was younger, Jerry made numerous friends while working with MRCI. As time went on and Jerry could no longer work, he still kept his friendships together through the EASE Program at MRCI. Jerry dearly loved getting around town on his bike, and to relax, he could be found listening to albums on his record player or watching TV. He also enjoyed finding good deals at local thrift stores. He was a lifelong member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Jerry will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him in life. Blessed be his memory.

The family of Jerry would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of MRCI and the caregivers at his group home for their love, compassion, and care they have given to Jerry over the years.
