NEW ULM — Elinor Daugherty, age 91 of New Ulm passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 at the New Richland Care Center.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel with Pastor Bradly Kuebler officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Madelia. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be live-streamed through the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home’s Facebook page starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Social distancing guidelines must be practiced at all times, and all guests in attendance at the visitation and funeral will be required to wear a mask.

She is survived by her son, Daniel (Diane) Daugherty; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Vernon Sundstrom and her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldridge; son, Timothy and her brother, Sidney (LaVera) Sundstrom.

Elinor Lucille Sundstrom was born Jan. 30, 1929 in Centerville, South Dakota to Simon and Anna (Johnson) Sundstrom. She moved to Lake Crystal in 1941 and later on to Madelia. She married Eldridge Daugherty on Oct. 16, 1950 at the Church of Christ in Madelia. The couple moved to New Ulm in 1957. Elinor enjoyed her flower garden and gardening, sewing, camping and fishing. She will be missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
