A private family service will be held at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.

Anneliese is survived by her son, Leon (Mavis) Davis; grandson, Ben (Kari) Davis; great grandson, Clayton Davis; sister-in-law, Fern Davis; brother-in-law, Victor (Mavis) Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon H. Davis Sr.; infant daughter, Sheila; sister, Hedwig Steffan; and brothers-in-law Harold and Robert.

Anneliese Wetzel was born February 10, 1930 in Lampertheim, Germany to Martin and Anna Wetzel. Anneliese met Leon Davis Sr. in Germany while he was serving in the Army during World War II. They were married in Germany and moved to the United States in 1952. Besides raising her family, Anneliese also worked at the Wearwell Garment Factory and later at 3M for 18 years. Besides her work, she enjoyed taking in nature by watching birds and tending to her flowers. She wasn’t one to have idle hands, she spent many years working on her ceramic and knitting projects. Anneliese especially loved spending time with her family at their cabin on Rice Lake where she enjoyed fishing with her family.

She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her, blessed be her memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
