Zachary was born on January 17, 1981 in New Ulm. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Elementary School and New Ulm Junior and Senior High Schools.

Zack’s passions, from the time he was little, were music and hockey. He played hockey as a goalie, from the age of 5 through high school. He was a member of the NUHS tennis team during the spring. He played guitar and percussion and loved acting in his Junior and Senior musicals. Zack was also a member of NUHS Concert Choir, Payne Street Singers and Menagerie. While still in high school, Zack and several of his friends formed a band called “The Edibles!” They played at several locations in town (some where the Dads and Moms had to go along as chaperones.)

After high school graduation, Zack attended Hamline University, as well as Music Technical College, earning a degree in Recording, Production & Sound Management. He then moved to Dallas TX to work in a recording studio, after which he moved to Austin TX, where he “DJ’d,” did recording, writing music and mixing for himself and others. In 2017, he moved to Kansas City MO and worked as an Audio-Visual Specialist for the Kansas City Convention Center and various other hotel event facilities.

Zack’s other interests included: reading, Star Wars, collecting old record albums, cooking and golfing with his Dad. His other loves included his dog Jaxx and cat Kittles.

Zachary was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Linus S. and Loretta Krzmarzick and Melvin (Curly) & Dolores Steinhaus, as well as his cousin Angela Krzmarzick. He leaves behind his parents, Gary and Marlene Krzmarzick, aunts and uncles (Tony and Sally Krzmarzick, Ron and Janette Krzmarzick, Marry and Rick Fischer, Mark and Susie Krzmarzick, Lori and Michael Braun, John and Cindee Krzmarzick, Rev. Michael and Karla Dietz) and Auntie Bea, also cousins and many friends.

We gratefully recognize the loving care of the nurses, doctors and staff of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, as well as the assistance of special friends Briana Hulke, Andy Christensen, Mike Heuchert, Sam Nilson, Jim Wirtz, Steve Guse, Adrian Bartlett, Brett Simenson, Adam Campbell, Ben Marti, Eric Kellerstrass.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be given to the Zack Krzmarzick Scholarhship Fund. These funds will be used to establish music scholarships for area high school students entering college. If you wish, a GoFundMe page called Zack Krzmarzick Scholarship has been set up for your use.
