Alan Steinbeisser
NEW ULM — Alan Steinbeisser, age 70, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Pastor Kathleen Ulland-Klinkner will officiate. The New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will provide full military honors following the service at church. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Bird Island City Cemetery in Bird Island.
Due to current social constraints, a visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Masks and social distancing are required. Seating for the memorial service will be limited.

Alan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Steinbeisser; sons, Jesse Steinbeisser, Joshua Steinbeisser, Justin Steinbeisser; daughters, Sonya Steinbeisser, Tasha Steinbeisser, Cassandra Steinbeisser; two grandchildren, Adalynn Nancy and Eliana Marie Steinbeisser; brothers, Robert (Cynthia) Steinbeisser of Morton, James (Kathy) Steinbeisser of Olivia, Richard (Kathy) Steinbeisser of Osakis, Father Joseph Steinbeisser of Olivia, Andrew (Tammy) Steinbeisser of Marshall; sisters, Linda Erickson of Hutchinson, Cathy (Robert) Herman of Cobden, Ruth (Mark) Shulte of Olivia; brothers-in-law, Don Johnson of Hector, Gerald (Linda) Jakes of Alexandria, Gary (Kathy) Jakes of New Ulm, Eugene (Lyne) Jakes of New Ulm, Dean (Carol) Jakes of Redwood Falls, Gerald Hutchinson of Redwood Falls; sisters-in-law, Judy (Lloyd) Rosenau of Marshall, Darlene (Miles) Willhite of Maple Grove, Bonnie (Morris) Hoover of Redwood Falls, Kathy (Richard) Steinbeisser of Osakis, Terry (Gary) Greenslit; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and God children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Marie Steinbeisser; brother, William Steinbeisser; sister, Grace Steinbeisser; niece, Ann Steinbeisser; brothers-in-law, Larry Erickson, Darrel Jakes; sister-in-law, June Hutchinson; and his beloved dog, Babe.
Alan Paul Steinbeisser was born October 5, 1949 to Andrew and Marie (Reynolds) Steinbeisser in Tracy, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Catholic Church in Olivia, Minnesota. Alan graduated high school from Olivia in 1968 and went on to enlist in the Air Force and attend the University of Hawaii. Alan was united in marriage to Nancy Steinbeisser at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bird Island, Minnesota. Their union was blessed with six children. Alan was a hard working family man. His greatest passion in life was being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a socialite who touched the hearts of many throughout his years working in different retail settings, and with his many years fostering children, including emergency foster care. Alan had a great love for animals and volunteered at the local animal shelter. He enjoyed going to the casino, horse races, entertaining children by dressing up as Santa or as a clown, playing the accordion, and singing. Alan will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Blessed be his memory.
