Doris is survived by her daughter, Jean (David) Grams of Hugo; her sons, Patrick Groebner of Maple Grove, Randall Groebner of Apple Valley; her grandchildren, Riley (Lyssa) Grams of Roseville, Chelsey Grams of Bayport; her great-granddaughter, Luetta Grams (with another on the way); and her sister, Arleen Siemer of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie “Les” Groebner who passed in 1997; an infant sister, Mary Stueber; her brother, Walter Stueber; and her sister-in-law, Ukee Stueber-Krenz.

Doris Mae Stueber was born February 9, 1926, in New Ulm to Theodore and Rose (Mueller) Stueber. She was a 1946 graduate from Holy Trinity Catholic School. On August 24, 1948, Doris was united in marriage to Leslie “Les” Groebner at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. This union blessed the couple with a daughter and two sons whom together they raised on their farm in Sigel Township. Doris worked from the home as a loving mother, home-maker, and farm wife until the couple eventually retired to New Ulm in 1983. Besides her work from the home there were a variety of hobbies that brought her great joy in life. Doris dearly loved working with her hands sewing, quilting, embroidering and canning from her bountiful garden on the farm. Her works were on display at the Brown County Fair and other neighboring fairs winning many ribbons. Doris and her husband Les enjoyed square dancing with their friends with the Twist and Twirl Club. She was also known to never turn down a card game with friends or family. Doris was a devout past member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles and a current member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. She gave back to her church serving as a CCD leader, a Christian Mother, and was also a member of the St. Elizabeth/St. Joseph Catholic United. Besides all her work on the farm and with her church, what brought her the most joy in life was time she got to spend with her family, and getting to see her grandchildren and great-granddaughter grow and was very proud of them. Many precious memories of Doris will forever stay in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Blessed be those memories.
