Margaret is survived by her husband Charles “Charlie” Forster of New Ulm; her daughters, Barb (Dean) Meyer of Pipestone, Pam Anderson of New Ulm; her son, Brad (Brandy) Forster of Kingsport, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her sisters, Lorraine Christle of California, and Mary Lou Pischke of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Louise Niehoff; her sisters, Phyllis Domeier, Elaine Roiger; and her brothers, Charles, and James Niehoff.

Margaret Kathleen Niehoff, affectionally known as “Muggs” was born December 12, 1936, in St. James, Minnesota to Lawrence and Louise (Boor) Niehoff. Margaret grew up the youngest of seven children. The Niehoff family eventually moved to New Ulm where Margaret was a 1955 graduate from the New Ulm Public High School. She later attended beauty school in Mankato and worked as a beautician in Gaylord. Margaret met the love of her life Charlie Forster at Lloyd’s Uptown Tavern in New Ulm. They corresponded via letter while Charlie was stationed in Greenland while in the Army. Margaret was united in marriage with Charlie on September 22, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. They lived in Texas while Charlie was in the Army before eventually settling back in New Ulm. Margaret and Charlie were blessed with three children, Pam, Brad, and Barb. Margaret spent much of her life in the 1960’s as a mother and home-maker, but also worked at Forster’s Furniture, which Charlie took over from his father in 1964. The couple eventually retired in 1991. In retirement, Margaret enjoyed playing cards, crosswords, and cross stitch. Margaret’s life was blessed with nine grandchildren, Kate, Paul, Kelly, Crystal, Jared, Dane, Sierra, Joshua, and Carleen. Margaret embraced grandparenthood and attended every activity she could. As a lifelong sports fan, she loved to not only cheer for her grandchildren, but also enjoyed golfing, and bowling. Margaret’s life was later blessed with ten great-grandchildren whom she cherished deeply. Margaret was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. Margaret’s family, while saddened by her passing, know she is waiting for everyone holding on to hour halos and will greet all by saying, “I know it fits, because I tried it on.” Blessed be her memory.
