NEW ULM — Willard H. Kirckof, age 84, of New Ulm passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Grant Bode officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Full military honors will be provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel and will continue on Tuesday, Dec. 3 one hour prior to the service at the church.

Willard is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughters, Diane (John) Calden of Estes Park, CO, Kim (Ken) Windler of Blaine; son, Jim Kirckof of New Ulm; grandchildren, Grace, Walker and Isaac Calden, Marissa and Hannah Windler; great-grandchild, Rylan Calden and brother, Richard Kirckof of Belgrade.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David and Clarence Kirckof and his sister, Dorothy Drewelow.

Willard Herman Kirckof was born Dec. 29, 1934 in Brooten to Herbert and Elsie (Dahlke) Kirckof. Willard served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He married Dorothy Lentz on March 31, 1959 at the Danville Lutheran Church in Minnesota Lake. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He was a grain inspector for the state of Minnesota for 36 years. After retiring he drove bus for the Heartland Express for 16 years. Willard always had a job to do, he loved helping out his family with projects around their homes. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, deer hunting and camping but above all else he loved to spend time with his family. He will always be remembered for his smile.
