NEW ULM — Clayton J. Edwards, 88, of New Ulm passed away on Nov. 23, 2019 at Lehigh Regional Medical Center in Lehigh Acres, Florida.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 2019 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH Chapel with Pastor Michael Indorf officiating. A private family burial will be held in the Cambria Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH Chapel and visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the SOUTH Chapel.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne; son, Rodney and Carol Edwards; grandchildren, Mark (Kristina) Edwards, Betsy (Matt) Stevenson, Glen (Jennifer) Edwards, Julie (Caleb) Arter; 8 great-grandchildren and a brother, David (Ruth) Edwards.

Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ruth Edwards; son, Douglas Edwards; brothers, Eugene Edwards and Neil Edwards.

Clayton Jon Edwards was born July 25, 1931 in New Ulm to Floyd and Ruth (Langum) Edwards. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1949. Clayton enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 and fought during the Korean War as part of the Night Air Combat Crew and was discharged in 1953. He married Corinne Anderson on June 19th 1954 in Lamberton. After the military he worked various jobs most notably owning and operating Edwards Logging and Lumber. He enjoyed woodworking, boating and spending time with his family
