SPRINGFIELD — Elaine Hesse Hoffman, age 91, of Springfield died on August 5, 2019, at her home in Springfield, MN.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 11, 2019, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield, MN.

Service will be held at the church on Sunday at 3:00 pm.

The clergy will be Pastor Julie Smith, Father Phil Schotzko, and Chaplain Noel Wetter.

Interment will be at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield, MN.

Elaine Hesse Hoffman, 91, was surrounded by family on August 5, 2019 when she transcended the clouds from her home on earth to be with her heavenly father and the loved ones who went before her. Elaine was born July 27, 1928 to Emil and Emma (Thompson) Jensen in Clements, Minnesota. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1946. After high school she worked at the Tessien Hospital where she assisted in nursing. She also worked as a store clerk at JC Penny’s in Springfield. Elaine married Don Hesse in 1947. Together they were blessed with four children. Don passed away after 20 years of marriage. In 1972 she married Chuck Hoffman with whom she loved to visit grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought them much joy. Elaine drove school bus for the Springfield Bus Service, wrote Remember When Articles for the Springfield Advance Press, and had spent 40 years working in nursing and therapeutic recreation at St. John’s Nursing Home when she retired just two years ago. She took pride in her home and keeping it seasonally decorated. She enjoyed her yard where she loved feeding and watching the birds, and nurturing her beautiful flower garden. She counted her blessings many times each day.

She is survived by her children, Patty Jo Morris, Gary Don (Sandy) Hesse, Peggy Sue (Brian Mathiowetz) Hesse, and Treff Hesse. Grandchildren Tim Morris, Sarah (Adam) Wenisch, Adam (Samantha) Hesse, Amber (Jason) Koehler, and Dylan (Anna) Hesse. Great Grandchildren Lexy, Luke, Kaleb, Avery, and Emma Wenisch; Sawyer, Corbin, and Rowyn Hesse. And a sister, Joyce Jenzen. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husbands Don and Chuck, brothers LaVern, Dennis, and Curtis, and a granddaughter Tammy.
