SPRINGFIELD — Inez H. Marks, age 92, of Springfield died on July 12, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at the Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel and will continue on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield.

Service will be held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield on Tuesday at 10:30 am.

The clergy will be Pastor Tricia Mattson. Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. On line condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Inez Helen (Stark) Marks was born on January 20, 1927, to Edward and Bertha (Noack) Stark in Burnstown Township, Brown County. Inez was baptized into the Christian faith on March 27, 1927. She grew up on the family farm near Springfield and attended country school district #55. Inez worked at Springfield Dairy and Fecker’s Market before her marriage to Melvin Marks on November 19, 1945. The couple farmed by Cobden, Evan, and later purchased a farm near Darfur in 1957. In 1989, they retired and moved to Springfield. Inez was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and involved with the Rebekah Circle and Quilting Group. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her son Ronald (Gloria) Marks of Butterfield; grandchildren – Shannon, Michelle (Jamie) Krause, and Kyle (Lindsay) Marks; great grandchildren – Weston Kyle Marks, Valen Reese Marks, and Samuel Fredrick Krause. Inez was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin in 1997, daughter Sharon Kay in infancy in 1949, a brother Leo in 1979, and a sister Irene Roiger in 1980.
