Diane Schuelke

LAFAYETTE — Diane Schuelke, 73, of Lafayette died Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the New Ulm Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Friday, March 1 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette with Monsignor Douglas Grams celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of Mass at church on Friday.

Diane is survived by her husband, Paul Schuelke of Lafayette; a daughter, Christine (Dallas) Grack of Lafayette; sons, Mark (Bobbie) Schuelke and Keith (Anne) Schuelke all of Lafayette; grandchildren, Joshua Fischer, Jenna Fischer, Molly Fischer, Christine Austin, Brandon Cummins, Nicholas Schuelke, Melissa Arce, Dylan Anderson, Ian Anderson, Austin Schuelke, Gram Anderson, Ryan Schuelke and Brooklyn Schuelke; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Beverly (Jim) Bergman of Sicklerville, New Jersey and Carol “Punky” (Vince) Johnson of Dayton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Ronald Pearson.

Diane Kay Pearson was born October 24, 1945 in Minneapolis to Theodore and Bernice (Krueger) Pearson. She was a 1963 graduate of Rockford High School. She was united in marriage to Paul Schuelke on June 15, 1968 in Glencoe. Diane was employed as an Avon Salesperson for more than 30 years and also worked as a florist and as a factory assembly worker. Her hobbies included cake decorating, baking, bowling, glassware collecting, rose gardening, flower designing, antique collecting and ceramic art. Diane enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events and often would join the team huddles even being awarded medals with the team to honor her participation.

She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women, Eucharistic Minister, Catholic Order of Foresters and the American Legion Auxiliary.
