Kenneth “Kenny” Jon Anderson

SLEEPY EYE — Kenneth “Kenny” Jon Anderson from Ross Part Apartments in Sleepy Eye, passed away peacefully at the Sleepy Eye Care Center on December 24, 2018.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Friday, December 28, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH CHAPEL with Pastor David Winterfeldt officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.

Kenny is survived by his daughter, Emily Anderson; step-daughters Shannon Williams and children, Kristen Hempel and children, all of New Ulm; his girlfriend, Michelle Murry of Sleepy Eye; sisters, Mavis (Roger) Anderson of Starbuck, Melodee (Keith) Jones of Erie, Colorado, Koni (Randy) Filzen of Courtland, Juli (Greg) Luckhardt of Balaton, Juli (Dan) Filzen of Redwood Falls; and a brother, Kevin (Tina) Anderson of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leroy (in infancy), Dayton and Duane Anderson.

Kenneth Jon Anderson was born January 31, 1962 in Morris to Arvid and Bernice (Toop) Anderson. He was employed at a variety of jobs as a young adult including AMPI, Holiday Inn and ending as a roofer for Laraway Roofing until a disability forced him to retire in 2006. Kenny liked woodworking, fishing and was the Vikings #1 fan, standing tall at the Minnesota Miracle game last year was one of his proudest moments. He never gave up on the Vikings. Kenny loved imitating Fran Tarkenton as a kid, He was an outdoors kid growing up in the country. Growing up as a teen he became a great roller skater and enjoyed hanging out with his friends. Kenny enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephews whenever he had the chance. There are so many memories.
