Muriel Palma Tessmer

RURAL SLEEPY EYE — Muriel Palma Tessmer age 84, of rural Sleepy Eye, MN died on November 26, 2018, at her home.
Visitation will be on from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday and will continue on Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 am at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
Service will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel, on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:30 am.
The clergy will be Pastor Julie Smith.
Interment will be at the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Muriel was born on March 5, 1934 in St. James, MN to Oscar A. and Minnie (Sandbo) Swenstad. She grew up and attended St. James School. She was united in marriage to Lenus E. Tessmer on May 20, 1953 in Albion Lutheran Church, rural St. James. Muriel and her husband owned and operated Len’s Bar in Cobden for several years. She also worked at Pietrus Foods in Sleepy Eye, Sleepy Eye Care Center, and bartended at Jerry’s Place for many years. She enjoyed her visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, puzzle books, visiting with everyone and having a good time. She will be missed by all.
She is survived by sons, Larry (Jean) Tessmer, Scott Tessmer, Lynn (Kathy) Tessmer all of Sleepy Eye, and Stacy (Sandy) Tessmer of New Ulm, grandchildren, Jessica (Brain) Kuebler, Lance Tessmer, Seth Tessmer, Chase Tessmer (finance Sarah Haala), Bryce Tessmer (finance Kristin Blume), Katlyn Tessmer (special friend Jordan Vogel) and Samuel Tessmer, great grandchildren, Kyler and Hudson Kuebler and Knox Tessmer, sister, Audrey Walter of Sleepy Eye, sister-in-law, Lois Tessmer of Cobden and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lenus Tessmer, daughter, Kimberly Forst, son, Kurt Tessmer, daughter-in-law, Judy Tessmer, father-in-law, Walter Tessmer, mother-in-law, Gladys Tessmer, brothers, Harlan and Omar Swenstad, sister, Mildred Johnson, and brother-in-law, Bryan Tessmer.
