Alan “Frank” F. Schwab was born February 18, 1959, in New Ulm to Raymond and Rose (Lauwagie) Schwab. He was a 1977 graduate from New Ulm high school, and later continued his education at the Jackson Vocational College where he studied for a year as a lineman, and an additional two years as an electrician. On May 31, 1980, Frank was united in marriage with Susan Stueber at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. The couple was blessed with three sons whom together they raised in New Ulm where Frank worked as a travelling union electrician for many years. Frank also dearly enjoyed raising beef cattle on his farm. To relax, Frank enjoyed taking in the outdoors hunting and fishing with family. He also worked many hours in logging, operating his Logs to Lumber sawmill. Frank loved sharing his talents in the woodshop with his family and friends as well. Many memorable gifts created by Frank in his woodshop will be cherished for generations to come. What he loved most in his life was his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and every moment he got to be with them. He will forever be remembered for his infectious laugh and smile. As a social man, if Frank didn’t know you, he would do his best to get to know you, and you’d leave as friends. He volunteered many hours simply visiting with the residents at Oak Hills. He was always there to help anyone in their time of need. Frank was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and a dedicated member of the Local 343 IBEW Electricians Union. Frank will be forever remembered by all who knew him best. Blessed be his memory.
