Leo E. Klement

FARIBAULT — Leo E. Klement, age 88, of Faribault, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault with his family at his side.

Memorial services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Faribault on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Heather Hammond officiating. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault at a later date.

A memorial visitation will be at Christ Lutheran Church, Faribault for one hour prior to the service on Sunday.

Leo Edward, the son of William and Kate (Wolter) Klement, was born June 21, 1929 in Gibbon. He graduated from Gibbon High School in 1948 and attended Dunwoody Institute for Architectural Drafting until he was drafted into the U.S. Army 369th EASR Unit. Leo married Flora Jaus on October 9, 1954 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. He worked for Botsford Lumber and Dundas Lumber before changing careers due to health reasons. He then attended Brown Institute to become an Electronics Technician and was employed with NW Pacific Railroad and later Control Data/Seagate. Leo was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault and a founding member and the treasurer of Christ Lutheran Church, Faribault. He was also a member of the Faribault American Legion Post 43 and the treasurer of Minnesota P.F.L.A.G. Leo enjoyed collecting coins, bowling, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Flora Klement of Faribault; three children, Kaye Klement of Duluth, Philip Klement of Faribault and Lee (and Verne Greenlee) Klement of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Bethany; great granddaughter, Trinity; brother, Harold Klement of Gibbon; sister in law, Fran (and Ron) Albright of New Ulm; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laurie Jean; two sisters, Leona (and Norman) Schroder and Lorraine Kelly; and sister in law, Gloria Klement.
