Larry “Kit” Carson

FAIRFAX — Larry “Kit” Carson, 77, of Fairfax passed away at his home on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Fairfax, from 1 to 5 p.m. with a memorial service at 4 p.m. A private burial will be held at Fort Ridgley Cemetery, with full Military Honors at a later date. Email condolences may be left at www.sturmfh.com

Larry was born to Ralph and Orda (Kiecker) Carson, on February 5, 1940 in New Ulm. He grew up in Wellington Township, Renville Co. and attended Fairfax Public School. In 1957, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving time in Europe. He received an honorable discharge in 1960 and came home to Fairfax. Larry was united in marriage to Jeanette Hopp, of Lafayette, on August 1, 1965. He farmed in West Newton Township, Nicollet Co, until his retirement. They had three children. Larry enjoyed ice racing, snowmobiling, bowling, playing cards, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

His children, Michael Carson, of Eagle Lake, Kelly Carson, of Lafayette, and Steven Carson and his wife Jessica, of New Ulm. Grandchildren; Skylar Reed, son of Kelly, Carson Reed, daughter of Kelly, and Rilye Carson, son of Steven survive him. Also surviving, his only brother, Bob Carson, of Fairfax, and nephews, along with relatives, friends and neighbors. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, born to Steven and Jessica Carson, sister-in-law, Janice Carson, and nephew, Brian Carson. Larry will be sadly missed by those whom loved and cared for him.
