Jane Pekrul

NEW ULM — Jane Pekrul, age 97, of New Ulm, MN entered eternal life on Sept. 11, 2017 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

A family funeral service will be held on the east coast with Rev. Wayne Laitinen officiating.

Jane is survived by five children, Richard (Penny) Honolulu, HI; Nancy Thompson (Jim) Farmington, CT; Ron (Linda) Burlington, CT; Kris Parker (Steve) Long Beach, CA; and Bill (Peggy) New Ulm along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jane is now reunited with her parents and brother along with granddaughter Jessica Parker (1996), her son Robert (2002), and her husband Adolph (2010).

Jane Patricia Feely was born in New York City, on April 15, 1920 the daughter of Peter and Delia Feely. She grew up in Mamaroneck, NY and graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1938. Jane was united in marriage to Adolph Richard Pekrul on July 22, 1939 in White Plains, NY. Jane and Adolph lived in the NYC area until 1947 when they moved to Sheffield, MA to operate Barnumhill Farm for 35 years. After retiring, the couple moved to Pittsfield, MA where they were very active at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. They moved Fond du Lac, WI in 1994 and finally to New Ulm, MN in 2002. They enjoyed traveling, and besides many trips to Hawaii, they also enjoyed trips to Australia, Japan, and Europe. Jane took great pride in her family and also enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them and all the friends she made along the way.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.

Therefore my heart rejoices, and I praise Him with my song. Psalm 28:7

Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church, New Ulm.
