Carla Jean Horner was born July 2, 1946 in New Ulm to Edward Sr. and Helen (Plautz) Horner. She was a 1964 graduate from New Ulm Public High School. Early in life, Carla worked as a baker for Red Owl, but spent most of her working career taking care of children from her home daycare. Eventually Carla’s disability forced her into an early retirement. Carla had a wonderful talent in the kitchen. Many terrific treats were shared with family and friends over the years. She also dearly enjoyed working with her hands crocheting, playing solitaire, or doing jig saw puzzles. In her early years, many terrific memories were made with family and friends at the bowling alley. Carla was a past member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. What Carla truly loved the most in life was her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
