Douglas Karl Muklebust was born November 15, 1938 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Levi and Hazel (Delaney) Muklebust. He was a 1956 graduate from Estherville High School in Iowa, and later attended school at the University of Minnesota. Doug was united in marriage with Peggy Merritt on July 16, 1960, in Minneapolis. The couple was blessed with six children whom together they eventually raised in New Ulm. Doug worked for over thirty years with 3M as a purchasing agent before retiring in 1996 when he and his wife Peggy retired to northern Minnesota. Besides his work, Doug had a variety of things that brought him joy in life. He dearly enjoyed taking in the outdoors. He liked walking the trails, riding bike, fishing, and gardening. For fun Doug always appreciated a good game of horse shoes, or going bowling with friends. Always willing to give what he could, Doug spent many hours volunteering and helping wherever there was need in his churches; most recently with Grace Community Church in New Ulm. What brought him the greatest joy in life was always his family. He especially loved every moment he got to spend with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Blessed be his memory.
