Donnie was called home on June 25th, 2017 due to a tragic car accident. He was born on September 22, 1998 in Marshall to Donnie and Julie (Schmiesing) Schuelke. He was baptized, received First Communion and was confirmed at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent. He graduated 8th grade from St. Edwards Catholic School in Minneota and graduated with honors from Minneota High School with the class of 2017.

He loved baseball, robotics, science and physics, being with friends, and above all, he loved his brothers. He was involved in TKD, Knowledge Bowl, 4-H, and Minnesota Mile. He truly enjoyed all aspects of FFA and his most recent accomplishment was being part of the State FFA Officer Nominating Committee. He loved dairy judging and handling and spent hours at the neighbors honing his skills. He loved playing (and cheating) at cards and poker night with his buddies was rarely missed. No outfit was complete without a tie and a new knot he found on YouTube. Dress up days at school were his favorite.

Family time was spent playing baseball, watching The Big Bang Theory, Scorpion, Arrow, Flash and America’s Got Talent. He liked boating, tubing and knee boarding, camping, fishing, camp fires, hayrides and just being with his family. He loved his brothers and showed them often by a “gentle smack” on the arm.

Donnie loved life. He registered as an organ donor in September of 2015 and gave blood as often as he could (even though he hated needles). He loved helping people and would be smiling knowing how many lives his donations changed.

Donnie is survived by his parents Donnie and Julie, his brothers Carter, Josh and Logan all of Minneota, his grandmas, Darlene “Grams” Schmiesing of New Ulm, Arlys Schuelke of Welch, his great-grandma Lucille Schmiesing of New Ulm, his grandpas, Don “Gramps” Schuelke of Fort Pierce, FL, and Gary Schmiesing Sr. of Backus, his great aunt Lavonne “Toots” Kamm of New Ulm, aunts, uncles and cousins, Julie (Schuelke) and Cory Trierweiler (Morgan, Makenna and Mia) of St Michael, Heidi (Schuelke) and Aaron Aslakson (Kailey and Ethan) of Red Wing, Gary Schmiesing Jr. of Faribault, Lisa (Schmiesing) Schuelke (Cody and Makia) of Princeton, Marci (Schmiesing) and Mike Jasper (Hunter and Hayden) of Elk River, Mathew Schmiesing of Crystal, and many other great aunts and uncles, cousins, his #1 K-9 companion Sophie and a flagnog of friends.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and Uncle Mark Schuelke.

His smile will be missed!!
