Alsop, Jean Lois (Tweeten)
Jean Lois Alsop passed away on Feb. 3, 2017. Jean was born on April 13, 1926 in Spring Grove, MN to Rudolph and Bertha (Sylling) Tweeten. Jean married Donald Alsop on Aug. 16, 1952. In 1954, they moved to New Ulm, MN. In 1975, the family moved to North Oaks and has resided there since. Jean was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be truly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Survived by her husband, Judge Donald Alsop; sons, David (Mary), Robert (Karen); daughter, Marcia Turner (Roger); grandchildren, Jacob (Joy), Steven, Michael, and Nathan Alsop, Michelle, Mark, and Eric Turner, John (Rory) and Jim Alsop; great grandsons, Axel and Silas Alsop. Preceded in death by brother, Harlan Tweeten; sisters, Lavonne Watson and Marion Anderson.
Visitation Sunday, Feb. 12, from 4-7 PM at HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM-PURCELL FUNERAL HOME, 515 Hwy 96, Shoreview. Memorial Service Monday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. (visitation 10-11 a.m.) at INCARNATION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4880 Hodgson Rd, Shoreview.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Mayo Foundation; Judge Donald D. Alsop Scholarship @ U of M Law School; Incarnation Lutheran Endowment Fund; or donor’s choice.
