Devon was born on September 7, 1998 in New Ulm, Minnesota, to his parents Andrew Erickson and Tamara Purvis. He was raised in Grundy Center, Iowa, attended Grundy Center High School and graduated from West Marshall High School in State Center, Iowa. Devon also completed a semester at Hawkeye Community College. He worked at Norby’s in Grundy Center and planned on attending lineman school at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa.

Devon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to fish and enjoyed collecting knives of all varieties. Devon was known for his sense of humor and his sense of style. He was a loving son and a devoted brother to his sisters and brothers. He loved cars and enjoyed working on them. Devon loved music and performing in front of the camera.

Devon is survived by his parents, Andrew Erickson (Janet Westberg) of Mankato, MN and Tamara Purvis (Brandon Hinders) of St. Anthony, IA; grandparents Randy and Karen Thompson, Jerome and Kathleen Erickson and Paula Purvis; sisters Chasyti Erickson, Brooke Thedens and Brianna Thedens; brothers Hunter Purvis, Preston Hinders, Justin Lang and Kantin Ash; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Earl Purvis.
