Milly Middleton died December 28, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society – Sogge Memorial in Windom. For the last year, she has struggled with both kidney and heart/lung issues-however, her spirits remained high.

Milly was born at the Mt. Lake Hospital on May 9, 1926 to Frank and Anna (Siefkes) Williams. She grew up on a farm near Jeffers and graduated from Jeffers High School. She had four sisters: Ruth(d), Hazel, Pearl & Phyllis(d). Sadly, her mother Anna died during her senior year. After graduation, she was a nanny for the Lester Crowell family near Windom.

On September 10, 1945, she married Dwayne Middleton at the Lester Crowell home near Windom. Initially, they resided in a one-room house on the Middleton Family farm near Sanborn for several years. Upon retirement of Grandpa and Grandma Middleton, they moved into the original homesteaded farm house. They built a new modern farm house in 1967 in which Milly truly loved to cook. In 1988, the farm was named a Century Farm for being in the Middleton family for over 100 years. Her pride and joy was her flock of sheep and baby lambs that she cared for during the bitter winter months. They continued farming until retirement in 1993. She enjoyed her family and friends, and especially her grandchildren. She also loved camping, quilting, traveling and caring for her well-manicured farm lawns. She was deeply devoted to Christ and attended the Windom Evangelical Free Church since 1973 helping with numerous volunteer positions.

In 2004, they were divorced and Milly continued living on the family farm until her death.  She is survived by her two sons, Glen (Lynne) Middleton, Plano, TX and Arlan (Debra) Middleton, St. Michael; 3 grandchildren: Heidi (Jamie) Highet , Ambre (Jed) Rappe, Nathan (Alexis) Middleton; 3 step-grandchildren: Julie Knight, Christine Steffen and Heather Benningfield; 11 great-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren; and  numerous nieces and nephews.

Milly is preceded in death by her parents; an infant baby brother; and two sisters, Ruth and Phyllis.

Blessed be the memory of Mildred “Milly” Middleton.
