James H. Thebado

Putnam – James H. Thebado, Phd., 84, of Keech St. formerly of Springfield, MN, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA.

He was the loving husband of the late Jeanne (Sward) Thebado who passed away in 2005. Born in Ft. Bragg, NC, he was the son of the late Frederick and Viola (Stevenson) Thebado.

Mr. Thebado was a pharmacist in three states and co-owner of Sward-Kemp Drug Stores of Springfield, Minnesota, and also had locations in six towns throughout southern Minnesota. . He was an artist, enjoyed playing golf, a “joke teller,” cribbage player and was an avid Red Sox fan. He coached youth football and was well known as an exceptional punter coach. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great granddaughter whom called him “Great.”

James will be remembered with love by his family; Janis E. Beltis and her husband, Jeffrey, of Putnam; Joan M. Beltis and her husband, Richard, of Dedham, MA; Judith A. Thebado of Putnam; Jeff Thebado of Thompson, and James Gerard Thebado and his husband, Scott Smith, of Weymouth, MA; and grandchildren, Allison Yarosh and her husband, Kris; J. Spencer Beltis, Richard Andrew Beltis, and Garrett James Beltis; and his great-granddaughter, Zoie E. Beltis; his niece, Malinda Conley and her daughter, Kalena Conley; his aunt, Shirley Mulig, of OH. He is predeceased by his brother, Frederick Thebado, and his sister, Katheen Stevens.

A Mass of Christian Burial for James will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St, Putnam, CT.
