Debi was born on July 13, 1957 in Siren, Wisconsin and her family later moved to Minnesota. She graduated from Gaylord High School in 1975. She was united in marriage to Steve Neidecker on May 31, 1980, and they resided in New Ulm. She worked for Kraft Foods until they moved to Chicago in 1986, where she started a childcare business that she operated for thirty years.

Very few people are blessed with a heart as big as Debi’s. She always put everyone else’s needs before her own and gave selflessly to anyone who needed a hand, including countless charities. Debi cherished the numerous long-lasting relationships she developed with families from her childcare business that she kept open until the very day she died. Her happiest moments always included her many close friends, her family, and of course the grandchildren she adored.

August 25th has always been a special day for Steve and Debi and one they’ve celebrated together over the last 39 years. The first time they met and said hello to each other was Thursday August 25th, 1977. It feels natural and fitting to Steve as the perfect date, Thursday August 25th, 2016, to spend that day along with family and friends, as the last time to say goodbye.
