Karen was born September 9, 1941, to Edward and Alpha (Walters) Wolf on their farm in Brookville Township, Redwood County. She attended school in Redwood Falls. When her parents sold their farm and moved to New Ulm, Karen was one of the first participants in the Brown County Day Activity Center. In 1973, Karen moved to a group home with the Harry Meyering Center and later to a group home with Habilitative Services, Inc. (HSI), both of Mankato.
Throughout her lifetime, Karen loved playing with her nephews and nieces, petting animals (especially cats), listening to music and dancing polkas. She enjoyed attending and watching Bandwagon, bowling, going out to eat, and shopping at the mall with her special friend, Nick. After 29 years of service working at MRCI, Karen retired and spent her later years in the loving care of her HSI family.
