Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara Moede of New Ulm; daughter, Krista (Matt) Conner of Farmington; son, Bill (Kim) Moede of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Caleb, Luke, and Ashlynn; and brother, John (Mona) Moede of Chicago, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill was raised on the Des Moines River in Windom, Minnesota. This is where his love of the great outdoors began. He grew up canoeing, fishing and hunting with his Dad, brother and friends which continued throughout the years. He shared his love for the great outdoors with Barb, on their first date, he took her to the Windom River. He later married the love of his life, Barbara Fett on June 20, 1965. The couple was blessed with two children. His children Billy and Krista learned to love the outdoors as well by taking many family vacations or just a day on the river in Windom. He had a strong adoration for photography; this is evident by all the photos he took of his family. He would never leave home without his camera on his shoulder and a cooler for his film. He could always count on Krista to provide an interesting pose or expression for him to capture.

Bill was very creative, as a child he spent long hours constructing model airplanes, some he even designed himself. His creativity was also shown through drawing, painting pictures, and woodworking. He had an avid interest in the history of our world wars, guns and reading which he passed along to his son, Billy. Going to gun shows together was a favorite pastime. Bill was very knowledgeable about guns of the past and present; Billy was always willing to listen intently to his stories.

Bill graduated from the University Of Minnesota School of Pharmacy and owned his own pharmacy, Polta Drugs of New Ulm, MN. Bill had a kindness about him that was shown by his love for helping others whether they were customers, professionals or relatives who had questions about medications. He will always be remembered for his gentle manner and big-heartedness offered to all he interacted with.

Bill was fearless during his seven-year struggle with cancer. He confronted it like he did anything else that challenged him, with exceptional purpose, courage and selfless motivation. He never gave in to fear. He had Barb ‘the love of his life’ at his side for over 50 years; he fought the good fight of faith to the very end.

Our family would like to thank each of you for supporting us though this journey with Bill. His journey is a testimony to all of us who remain behind, and as said in Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go”.
