New Ulm Police • An individual reported finding a severely damaged laptop computer on her property at New Ulm Mobile Village at 7:07 p.m. Saturday. A sticker indicated the laptop was New Ulm Public School property. The school resource officer learned the laptop belonged to a 16-year-old New Ulm student. The school had an agreement with students that they are responsible for all damages. New Ulm Police • Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 12:42 a.m. Friday at Garden St. and 5th St. N. A 31-year-old New Ulm man appeared to be under the influence. He failed field sobriety tests and was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for consideration of second-degree DWI charges. • The New Middle School School Resource Officer met with the principal about a student bringing fireworks to school at 10:09 a.m. Friday. Brown County Sheriff’s Office • Responded to a physical domestic report on Sunset Avenue in Hanska at 9:55 a.m. Thursday. A 56-year-old Hanska woman was transported to the Brown County Evaluation Center, Detox Division. A 38-year-old Hanska woman was also involved. No medical attention was sought. No damage was reported. Charges are pending investigation of a report that went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office • Responded to an injury crash involving a motorcycle and sport utility vehicle (SUV) near the intersection of Highway 25 and 261st Ave. (CR 14), Faxon Township, about two miles north of Belle Plaine at 10:20 a.m. May 7. James Eckerdt, 57, rural St. Peter, was westbound on Highway 25 on his 1990 Harley Davidson motorcycle that collided with a 2019 Nissan Rogue driven by Joni Forrest, 69, Belle Plaine, who turned onto Highway 25 from CR 14. Forrest sustained minor non-life threatening injuries and was assessed on-scene by ambulance personnel but not ...
