New Ulm Police

• Talked with a Mankato care facility mandated reporter about a pregnant 18-year-old New Ulm female continually using nicotine vapes, cannabis and alcohol at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday. A report went to Brown County Human Services.

• A 36-year-old New Ulm woman said Monday she believes a 44-year-old Lake Crystal man whom she has an harassment restraining order against is texting her. Attempts to find the identify of the suspect sending messages were not successful. A report was done for documentation.

• A 63-year-old New Ulm woman said Monday a check she sent for a card card payment was forged by an individual and deposited at a Vienna, Va. credit union. A report went to investigations.

• Stopped a vehicle at 11:46 p.m. Sunday for traveling in the wrong direction on Highways 14/15. Impairment signs were detected from a 56-year-old driver from Sartell. The suspect failed sobriety tests but no alcohol was detected on a preliminary breath test. A blood sample was obtained for suspected controlled substance use. After test results are obtained, a report will be sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for charge consideration.

• A 63-year-old New Ulm woman told police Sunday that her 23-year New Ulm grandson had unauthorized credit card charges. The grandson lost his credit card in the Walmart clothing section and later noticed $26.29 and $29.92 charges were made at Walmart. Store loss prevention will obtain video and send it to police. A report is under investigation.

• A 30-year-old New Ulm woman told police Sunday that her ex-boyfriend, a 33-year-old New Ulm man was under the influence of methamphetamine and tried to break into her house. The suspect fled on foot before police arrived. Police found male personal belongings and drug paraphernalia outside the woman’s residence. The items were seized. Reports went to Brown and Blue Earth County Probation.

• An 83-year-old New Ulm woman who owns downtown property said Saturday told police at 4:07 p.m. Saturday that a door was forced open, causing damage. An estimated was not available. A report was done for documentation.

• Assisted the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office at 1:39 a.m. Saturday on a call of gunshots fired in Courtland. The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office provided a vehicle description. Police located the suspect vehicle coming into town on Nicollet County Road 37 and stopped a truck. Impairment signs were detected on the driver, a 21-year-old Sleepy Eye male, and he was arrested, cited for DWI and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the shots fired incident.

• The New Ulm Airport manager, a 41-year-old New Ulm man, told police Friday night that he received a threatening call from a male who said FBI agents were following him in airplanes around New Ulm. The caller said he wanted the incident documented.

• Located and arrested a 43-year-old New Ulm man with Brown and Anoka County warrants at his mother’s residence at 5:01 p.m. Friday on Minnesota St. North. The Brown County warrant was for contempt of court. The man was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to Brown County Probation.

• A 74-year-old New Ulm woman told police Friday that she fell victim to a scam, purchasing a $500 gift card from Kwik Trip and Hy-Vee where she was questioned further about the purchase and realized it was a scam. The woman did not give any information about her Kwik Trip purchase to the scammer, so she is not out $500. A report was done for documentation.
