New Ulm Police

• Responded to Hy-Vee Foods at 11:34 p.m. Sunday for a report of a male with a crowbar and possibly a handgun found in the store after it closed. A Hy-Vee employee told the man to leave and followed him outside. The suspect was seen walking near the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham, north of Hy-Vee Foods, wearing a mask, black stocking cap, black sweatshirt, raised hood, dark-colored jeans, blue gloves and a black belt. The report is under investigation.

• Heartland Express reported receiving a threatening phone call at 12:23 p.m. Tuesday from a 69-year-old New Ulm man upset about a bus pickup and dropping off riders in front of his residence. Officers went to the caller’s residence. He admitted to calling the bus service and said if the issue doesn’t stop, he will likely confront the bus driver. A copy of the report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of threats of violence charges.
