New Ulm Police

• Took a Wal-Mart theft report at 3:44 p.m. Friday. An unidentified male left the store stealing $263.65 worth of items. Police will post surveillance on their Facebook site.

• Took a Wal-Mart theft report at 3:45 p.m. Friday involving $1,339.27 worth of items stolen from December 2025 to January 2026. Suspects are 30 year-old and 24-year-old Lake Crystal men. The report is under investigation.

• Took a driving complaint at 6:40 p.m. Friday on the 400 block, Linden St. and stopped a 46-year-old New Ulm man. Impairment signs were detected. The man was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail for more tests, then transported to detox. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for review of 2nd-degree DWI charges.

• Took an Harassment Restraining Order (HRO) violation report at 9:47 a.m. Sunday involving a 34-year-old New Ulm woman and 34-year-old New Ulm man with orders against each other. The two were in church together. The woman felt the man sat too close to her, which she felt would be a violation. Video surveillance was obtained. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Took an HRO violation report at 3:25 p.m. Sunday involving a 40-year-old New Ulm woman who said she has an HRO against a 36-year-old Hanska man said to have come to her residence and made threats. An attempt to locate was issued for the man’s arrest but he was no longer at the residence. He was located by the Brown County Sheriffs’ Office and arrested the next day. Reports went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office, Minnesota Department of Corrections and Brown County Probation.

• Took a report at 2:35 p.m. Monday of a hockey stick valued at $350 that was stolen from outside a locker room at the New Ulm Civic Center. No surveillance cameras were near where the stick was stolen from. A report was done for documentation.

• Arrested a 34-year-old New Ulm man at 5:42 p.m. Monday on a Blue Earth County warrant. The man was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to Brown County Probation.

• Responded to an alarm call at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday at Smokes Plus, 1704 Westridge Road. Officers noticed front door broken glass. Video surveillance showed a suspect entering and stealing store items. A report is under investigation.

• Responded to a report of a hockey stick stolen from outside a New Ulm Civic Center locker room at 7:57 a.m. Tuesday. The hockey stick was valued at $432. No surveillance cameras were near where the stock was stolen from. A report was done for documentation.
