New Ulm Police

• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 11:14 p.m. Friday at Garden Street North and 1st Street North. Impairment signs were noticed from the driver, a 44-year-old New Ulm man. He was arrested, transported to the Brown County Jail and cited for fourth-degree DWI and open bottle. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 7:29 p.m. Saturday at Broadway and 15th Street South. The driving status of the driver, a 37-year-Courtland man, showed his vehicle should be equipped with ignition interlock. The man was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for consideration of operating a motor vehicle without ignition interlock.

• Located a 23-year-old New Ulm man inside Kwik Trip South at 10:50 p.m. Saturday with a Brown County District Court sign and release warrant.

• Responded to an anonymous report of a gathering of individuals under age 21 consuming alcohol at 12:12 a.m. Sunday on the 800 block of State Street North. Four underage consumption citations were issued to a 19-year-old female and male and two 17-year-old New Ulm males. School notification letters were sent with a copy of the report to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Spoke to a 40-year-old homeless man at the law enforcement center who said he could no longer sleep in his vehicle due to cold weather at 1:30 p.m. Monday. The man was provided voucher for one night lodging and advised to contact Brown County Human Services in the morning. A report went to Brown County Human Services.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:54 a.m. Tuesday at 8th Street North and State Street. A 2012 car driven by Katherine Seifert, 77, New Ulm, was eastbound on 8th North when it collided with a 2012 car driven northbound by Claire Plocher, 26, New Ulm. Passenger side damage was reported to the Seifert car and front end damage to the Plocher car.

Brown County Sheriff

• Pursued a white Chevy pickup truck near the intersection of County Road 11 and 150th Street, Lake Hanska Township at 3:59 a.m. Sunday. The sheriff’s office is reviewing video footage. No injuries or damage were reported. No further information was available.

• Received a burglary report at 3:41 p.m. Monday at an Albin Township farm house. A furnace and possibly other items were reported stolen. An estimated value of stolen items was not available. A report was done for documentation.
