New Ulm Police

• Took a check fraud report from a local business at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday. An account was flagged by a bank when a check came through with a check number nearly 60,000 over the previous check number. The check was made out to a female with an Azusa, CA address. The check amount was $2,500. A report was sent to investigators.

• Responded to a domestic call at 12:28 p.m. where both parties separated prior to police arrival. A 38-year-old New Ulm woman and 35-year-old New Ulm man admitted they got into an argument but nothing physical occurred. A report went to Brown County Human Services.

• Spoke with a 16-year-old New Ulm girl at 12:04 p.m. Monday. She said while working at McDonald’s over the past weekend, a 15-year-old New Ulm male customer pointed a red laser pointer directly in her eye. The girl said she’s suffering vision issues and wanted to document the incident. If the girl’s vision does not improve, her family would consider the matter reviewed for charges. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a physical assault incident at 11:43 a.m. Monday. Police talked to an 80-year-old New Ulm man who admitted striking his significant other, a 77-year-old New Ulm woman. Police noticed injuries on the woman’s face. The man was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. The woman did not seek medical attention. Reports went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office, Brown County Human Services and Probation.

• A 26-year-old New Ulm woman told police 11:09 a.m. Monday that a 25-year-old Minneapolis man was texting her that would violate a Domestic Assault No Contact Order. After the woman provides text message proof, a report will go the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for charge consideration.

• A 39-year-old New Ulm man told police at 4:58 p.m. Sunday that several several packages from Best Buy were delivered to the correct house number but wrong side of town. Attempts by the man and police to retrieve packages from the address were unsuccessful. The report is under investigation.
