New Ulm Police
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with minor injuries at Broadway and 17th Street South Friday. A 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by Jason Scott Wills, 52, Gibbon, was southbound on Broadway, turned left into McDonald’s and collided with a northbound 2015 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Brittany Anne Johnson, 34, New Ulm. Damage was severe to both vehicles. Both drivers and a passenger in the Chevy had minor injuries.
• Officers came upon an intoxicated 61-year-old New Ulm man in front of a bar on North Minnesota Street on the first block north of Center Street at 1:02 a.m. Saturday. The man was unable to care for himself and was transported to the Brown County Evaluation Center, Detox Division. A report was done for documentation.
• Officers noticed a 61-year-old New Ulm man exiting a liquor store on the 1500 block of North Broadway with a case of beer at 10:19 a.m. Saturday. Police were aware the man was on probation and was not supposed to possess or consume alcohol. The man said he was bringing the beer to a Christmas party for others to consume. A report went to Brown County Probation.
• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at Broadway and 8th Street North at 10:44 p.m. Saturday. Police learned the driver, a 35-year-old New Ulm man, had an active Order for Protection against the female passenger, a 37-year-old New Ulm woman. The woman was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail and was cited for violating the Order for Protection. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• A 23-year-old St. James man came to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center to turn himself in on a Brown County warrant issued in April for a probation violation. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded to a one vehicle crash without injuries in snowy conditions at 10:27 a.m. Friday in a roundabout on Highway 14 and North Highland Ave. A 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Jose Antonio Rios, 44, New Ulm, approached the roundabout from the west and slid into the median and knocked over a yield sign. Vehicle damage was moderate to the front end. Rios wore a seat belt.
• Responded to a one-vehicle crash without injuries in snowy conditions at Oak Street and Raymond Dr. at 10:09 a.m. Friday. A 17-year-old New Ulm male was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer that lost contraction on snow and hit a boulevard tree. Damage was disabling to the front end of the Ford. The driver wore a seat belt.
Minnesota State Patrol
• Responded to a one-vehicle crash with non-life threatening injuries at 11:25 p.m. Monday on State Highway 15 near 300th Street, Cornish Township, Sibley County. An 18-year-old Blue Earth female was driving a 2009 Ford Edge that left the road and entered a ditch on snow and ice. The driver wore a seat belt but was transported to New Ulm Medical Center.
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with non-life threatening injuries at 1:14 p.m. Friday on State Highway 4 and Renville County Road 4, Brookfield Township. A 2025 Toyota Tacoma driven westbound on CR 4 by Edgar Jafeth Munguia Perdomo, 21, Waconia, collided with a 1998 Volvo tractor/trailer driven southbound on Highway 4 by Bradley Joseph Paul, 23, Lamberton. Perdomo was transported to Hutchinson Hospital. Paul was not injuried. Both drivers wore seat belts. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Hector Police/Fire/Medical assisted.
