Minnesota State Patrol
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Highway 4 at Walnut St. S.W., Sleepy Eye at 7:38 a.m. Monday. A Ford F150 driven by Donald Joseph Billmeier, 85, Sleepy Eye, was southbound on Highway 4 when a motorized tricycle ridden by Susan Joy Petersen, 74, Sleepy Eye, entered Highway 4 from Walnut St. and collided with the truck. Petersen was transported to Sleepy Eye Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. She did not wear a helmet. Billmeier was not injured. Sleepy Eye Police and Sleepy Eye Ambulance assisted.
New Ulm Police
• Took a report at 5:15 p.m. Friday from a 59-year-old Sleepy Eye woman who said she was sprayed by an unidentified man with some sort of liquid inside Walmart. The woman’s clothes were seized as evidence. A report is under investigation.
• Responded to a driving complaint at 6:49 p.m. Friday on the 1500 block of South Broadway. Police located a suspect vehicle and talked with the driver, a 47-year-old Mankato woman. She was cited for possession of an open cannabis package in a motor vehicle and driving without a valid license. She also was wanted on a Blue Earth County warrant for theft and was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report was done for documentation.
• Took a stolen vehicle report at 1:01 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle owner, a 41-year-old New Ulm man, said he knows who stole the vehicle but doesn’t know his name. It was learned the vehicle, valued at $15,000, was in the Chicago area. A report is under investigation.
• Stopped a vehicle for a registration issue at 5:13 p.m. Saturday. Police talked with an 18-year-old New Ulm female who was in possession of cannabis. Police found vape cartridges, gummies, alcohol, cannabis wax, and other illegal items. A citation was issued for open cannabis package in a motor vehicle. A warning was issued for the other items that were seized.
• Responded to the Smoke n Cloud tobacco shop at 7th North and Broadway at 1:25 a.m. Sunday for an attempted break-in. A window was broken on the north side of the building. Police viewed surveillance video and noticed a male tried to break in but did not gain access to the store. A report is under investigation.
• Responded to a residence at 4:22 p.m. Sunday on the 1500 block of Minnesota St. South for a forced entry report. A 40-year-old homeless man was located sleeping in a bed. He was combative and resisted arrest before he was transported to the Brown County Evaluation Center. A report for criminal damage to property charges went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• Arrested a 48-year-old New Ulm man at 11:25 p.m. Sunday at 2525 S. Bridge St. on a Brown County warrant for failure to appear in court. He was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report was done for documentation.
• Took a dog bite report at 8:32 a.m. Monday about a 47-year-old New Ulm man bitten on his right knee, puncturing skin. The man did not seek medical attention. The dog owner, a 52-year-old New Ulm woman showed proof of current vaccinations. A report of a potentially dangerous dog went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for review.
