New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at Highway 14 and Garden Street at 7:03 p.m. Monday. A 1994 Peterbilt driven by Jonathan Kuck, 54, New Ulm, was turning right from Garden Street eastbound on Highway 14 when he struck the side of a 2007 Buick driven by David Christiansen, 77, New Ulm, who was eastbound on Highway 14. Damage was moderate to the left front side of the Buick. There was no damage to the Peterbilt.

• Received a report of an explosion coming from New Ulm Steel Recycling, 19th St. S. at 9:47 a.m. Tuesday. A report was sent to New Ulm City Hall.

Redwood County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of CSAH 6 and CSAH 4 at 10:23 a.m. Monday. A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jeffrey Magdik, 63, Centerville, was eastbound on CSAH 4, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Thalia Calderon Rodriguez, 26, South Sioux City, Ne. All occupants of both vehicles were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage.

Assisting agencies were Wabasso, Lamberton, Walnut Grove and Centra Care Ambulance, the Wanda Fire Department and Minnesota State Patrol.

Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle injury crash on State Highway 15 just south of the Fort Road, Lafayette Township, Nicollet County at 1:51 p.m. Tuesday. Chad Michael Swenstad, 48, Sleepy Eye, was driving a 2005 Sterling straight truck northbound when a southbound 2013 Ford Edge driven by Bryson Issaiah Milburn, 20, New Ulm, veered into the northbound lane. Swenstad swerved to avoid a crash, left the road and overturned in the ditch. He was transported to New Ulm Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Milburn was not hurt. Both drivers wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved. The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office, Allina EMS and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) assisted.
