New Ulm Police
• Received a theft report of an American flag and flag pole stolen from the Post 132 American Legion Club, 13 S. Minnesota at 11:38 a.m. Friday. The flag was valued at $19. A report was done for documentation.
• Received a report of a fight between an 11-year-old New Ulm boy and 14-year-old New Ulm girl at the Brown County Fair at 4:04 pm. Saturday. Six juveniles were asked to leave the fairgrounds and not return during the fair. A parent of one of the girls transported her daughter to New Ulm Medical Center. More details on the girl were not available. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of disorderly conduct charges against both individuals.
• Responded to the Harmony Inn & Suites, 1901 S. Broadway at 6:42 p.m. Saturday for a 39-year-old Slayton man causing a disturbance. The man was transported to detox. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded to a Brown County Fair grandstand disturbance at 7:46 p.m. Saturday. There was a disagreement over seating arrangements between a 48-year-old Sleepy Eye man and a 27-year-old New Ulm man. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for consideration of disorderly conduct charges against the 27-year-old man.
• Took a theft report of a five-gallon Johnson marine gas tank at 8:59 p.m. Saturday at Broadway Haus. The gas tank was valued at $50. Police said there are no suspects. A report was done for documentation.
• Stopped a vehicle at Minnesota and 3rd St. North at 9:50 a.m. Sunday for a driver with a revoked driver’s license. A 72-year-old Madelia man said he hasn’t been able to get a valid driver’s license due to failing vision tests. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for driving after revocation and no insurance.
• Took a report from a 31-year-old New Ulm woman at 1:33 p.m. Sunday who said her vehicle windshield was cracked in several places while she was in a laundromat. A damage estimate was not available.
• Responded to a domestic assault report Sunday between 30 and 44-year-old men, both from New Ulm. The 30-year-old man had minor injuries from being hit several times. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for disorderly conduct and fifth-degree assault against the 40-year-old man. Neither man sought medical attention.
• Reported a one-vehicle crash report without injuries at 4:51 p.m. Aug. 6. Erik Braison Zobel, 24, New Ulm, was backing out of his driveway with a 2007 Chevy Silverado on the 600 block, 14th North St., when he said his brakes did not function and he hit a garage on the property.
